Beirut Airport Terminals

Beirut Airport fist opened on 1954 as a replacement of Bir Hassan Airfield, counting with an outstanding modern passenger terminal and facilities.

It became immediately a premier Middle East hub given especially to the growth of the four national carriers (Air Liban, Middle East Airlines, Trans Mediterranean Airways and Lebanese International Airways) and to the limited competition of the neighbour countries.

It underwent to several reconstructions due to the conflicts that suffered the country in the last 60 years: the Israeli assault on 1968, the Lebanese Civil War and the 2006 Lebanon War.

Nowadays, Beirut Airport has a single passenger terminal, which is a U shaped building, and composed by two wings from east to west parallel to each other and accessible from the second level of the main terminal.

Levels

Beirut Airport Terminal is split in four levels as follows:

- Ground level: It is the Arrivals Hall. Find in this level the duty free area and the following services: car rental booths, baggage claim, cafés, restaurants, shops, passport control (after clearing the security control, the duty free area and baggage area is accessible to passengers).
